Lakes District News is a strong community supporter. So far this year we have given back to the community with $18,000 in donations to community groups and individuals through advertising or other financial support.
Burns Lake has a population of 2,658, and serves as supply centre for 10,000 people in neighbouring communities. Recreation and leisure activities abound in the Lakes District. From fishing, hiking, biking, opal and agate hounding to horseback riding and canoeing, there is plenty to do and see.
