Lakes District News is the only local paper in Burns Lake. We are among the many papers owned by Black Press. We publish every Wednesday and we have a circulation of 1,800 per week. Lakes District News is a strong community supporter. So far this year we have given back to the community with $18,000 in donations to community groups and individuals through advertising or other financial support.

Burns Lake is the Heart of the Lakes District.
The village population is 2,658, and it serves as the supply centre for 10,000 people in neighbouring communities.
Recreation and leisure activities abound in the Lakes District. From fishing, hiking, biking, opal and agate hounding to horseback riding and canoeing, there is plenty to do and see.
